Yeah Yeah Yeahs - The Fox Theater - UPDATED 9/18/09

Ahh, there's a 1st to everything, right? Well, this will have been my 1st Yeah Yeah Yeahs show. The previous times trying to get tix to a Yeah Yeah Yeahs show it was sold out so fast that I didn't have time to purchase tix. One of those shows was at the Troubadour. Wish I had gotten tickets to that show, that would have been stellar.

The opening act, Yacht, was a bit of a yawner. Guy and a chick who sang over a music track with no instruments played at all. The only interesting thing about their set was their projection of a bunch of repetitive things. But that got old fast. Oh well, it was a novelty thing. I wasn't into it at all.

I have to say that Karen O was on fire that night. She was all over the stage and got into the performance of every song. They played a total of 16 songs and they were all awesome. There was an additional musician (Jessica?) to round out the songs who played keyboards, acoustic guitar, and bass. They played "Maps" acoustically, and that was a treat to nearly end the set.
